New commuter students are invited to join the Commuter Ambassadors in Rockwell Hall for a commuter get-together. Students will have the chance to get to know your fellow commuter peers, learn about involvement opportunities, take class tours and then enjoy dinner from 5:00–6:00pm. After dinner, be sure to head to the Carnival of Clubs to learn about all of the different clubs and organizations on campus.
Join United Students Government (USG) and their student-run organizations for our annual organization fair! Enjoy the fun carnival theme as you learn more about what each organization does on campus with fun interactive games, free prizes, and food! You don’t want to miss this event!
Join us for the new student Convocation! Convocation is the first formal event of each academic year and serves as a welcome for all new students entering SUNY Buffalo State. This program gives students the opportunity to hear from Buffalo State’s administration and signifies the beginning of a student’s journey into the world of academia. After Convocation, new students will get the opportunity to meet with their Academic departments, enjoy lunch, meet other incoming students, and spend time with Buffalo State faculty and staff.
Sing along with Student Life during dinner at Residential Dining. Aloha Dance Party 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Take a trip to Hawaii with USG at our Aloha Dance Party located in the Campbell Student Union. Come out to the first party of the year for mocktails, a photo booth, and great music!
Join the Newman Center and Student Life as we go see one of the world wonders right here in our backyard! We will leave campus, visit the falls, and enjoy the park and downtown. Departing from the Newman Center, 1219 Elmwood Avenue.
Don’t miss the Houston Takeover! This event is geared toward creating a positive experience for incoming and transfer students. The purpose is to ensure students are comfortable and have a positive “Home away from Home” experience. Being far from your home, friends, and family can be challenging at first. The goal of this event is to support students adapting to a new environment.
Join Student Life for a movie night. Free popcorn, soda and candy will be available throughout the movie!
