Congratulations and welcome to Buffalo State College. We can't wait to see you for your New Student Orientation! Before you arrive for your orientation, here are a few things you should know.

First-Year Students

What Should I Bring to First-Year Orientation?

  • Bed linens (Twin XL)
  • Pillow
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Change of clothes
  • Towel
  • Toiletries
  • Room fan (optional, as it may be hot outside)
  • Flip Flops or shower shoes
  • chargers for electronic devises
  • Banner ID information and student username
  • Official form of I.D.

First-Year Students

Complete the First Year Pre-Orientation Tutorial

Students should take the "First-Year Pre-Orientation Tutorial" to gain insight on what it is like to be a Buffalo State student and get a jumpstart on learning important information that will help you both inside and out of the classroom.

To access the tutorial:
1. Login:

  • Login in the Blackboard: 

https://buffalostate.open.suny.edu

  • Select the Community tab in the top banner
  • Select My Organizations to access the First Year Pre-Orientation Tutorial

2. Take the tutorial:

  • Select the First-Year Pre-Orientation Tutorial to access the tutorial

 

Transfer Students

Complete the Transfer Pre-Registration Tutorial

The tutorial is available and will serve as a foundation of information that will help in your transition to Buffalo State. Please follow the link for the Transfer Pre-Registration Tutorial. When you have completed the tutorial, you will be emailed your four digit pin number to register for your classes.
