The New Student and Family Programs office has designed an Orientation for new students who will be attending Buffalo State and provides programs, events, and information, which create a common experience and promote school spirit by connecting students to each other and fostering learning and development both in and out of the classroom.

Transfer Student Orientation is a required program for all transfer students attending Buffalo State College. The orientation session is a 1 day on campus program. This requirement cannot be waived.
Transfer Students- $100
Transfer Parent/Family- $75 (This is an optional program for parents and guests).
The orientation charge is mandatory and is used to cover the cost of running the New Student and Family Programs office and orientations. This includes the use of facilities, publications, materials, food, and staffing. The orientation charge is NOT on the student bill and will not be taken out of your financial aid. The orientation payment is non-refundable.
Reminder: Your $125 tuition deposit, applied to your tuition bill, is separate from the cost of your orientation.

Please include your banner number and full name on all forms of payment. We will not be accepting payments during check-in orientation. The orientation charge is NOT on the student bill and will not be taken out of your financial aid. The orientation payment is non-refundable and if you need to make payment arrangements, please contact our office.
Sign up for Transfer Orientation - Please check your personal and Buffalo State email for instructions on how to sign up for Orientation.
Pay by credit/debit card or check (electronically) at the time of signing up for orientation. If you want to pay by money order, follow the steps outlined above.
The Transfer Pre-Registration Tutorial will serve as a foundation of information that will help in your transition to Buffalo State. This will be available starting in March. When you have completed the tutorial, you will be emailed your alternate pin number to use the first time you register for your classes. This can be completed prior to registering for orientation. Additionally, we recommend that you contact your department for advising prior to registering for classes. Please see the transfer admit page for department information and additional information on what to complete prior to attending Buffalo State.
